According to billionaireaddresses.com, Eminem bought the 10 bathroom mansion for $4.8 million in 2003. That means he's selling it for less than half what he allegedly paid for it for reasons unknown. It seems the 44-year-old rapper's star power wasn't enough to beat Detroit's falling house values, as he has listed the six-acre home for $1.9million - despite originally buying it for $4.8million. The rapper’s star power won’t be enough to overcome Detroit’s declining home values; he originally bought the house in 2003 from the former CEO of Kmart for $4.8 million, according to CBS Detroit.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III, now known the world over as Eminem, was born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. In August of 2000 while married to his now ex-wife Kimberly Scott, Eminem purchased this home in Clinton Township, Michigan for just under $1.5 million. That's right—Marshall Mathers is listing his house at 42 percent of what he bought it for back in 2003.

The highly successful film earned Eminem an Academy Award with his song "Lose Yourself", for Best Original Song. Eminem's current Grammy wins stand at 15 with 44 nominations, according to Grammy.com.Shady Records. Eminem's third album, The Eminem Show, also won a Grammy Award in 2001. The film was directed by Curtis Hanson and starred Eminem, Kim Basinger and Brittany Murphy. The movie covers his rise in hip-hop that began while suprising crowds at local rap battles with his advanced word play and "off the dome" counter-rap jabs on his opponents.Shady Records. The house listing comes after Eminem debuted a shocking new beard and bleach-free locks in a rare public appearance at the premiere of The Defiant Ones in June.

Spanning a total of 17,000 square feet, the sprawling contemporary-style mansion is located on almost six acres of rolling grounds in the chi-chi suburb of Rochester Hills, MI. Built in 1986, every bedroom in the main house is a suite, providing plenty of space for a busy, growing family. There’s also a bucolic private pond set amidst leafy trees for a true taste of Midwestern beauty. A Rochester Hills mansion widely known as a home belonging to Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, is on the market for a cool $1.99 million. The home on Winkler boasts 17,500 square feet of grandeur including a spectacular pool with a twisting slide and waterfall, five bedroom suites, a spa, cabana, guest house, tennis court, and private pond.

And considering his high-profile, the compound also offers a guard house outside the main property. Other highlights of the home built in 1986 include two-story, 1,500-square-foot entertainment room, eight bathrooms and a three-car garage. Eminem, who is the sixth richest rapper in the world, bought the home in 2003 from the former CEO of Kmart, according to CBS Detroit.

The interior features wood paneling and a two-story, 1,500-square-foot entertainment room. Eminem's rap skills brought him notoriety in Detroit as early as 1995 as a member of Soul Intent. In 1997 Eminem was signed by rapper/producer Dr. Dre to his Aftermath Records label. In the 2005 song "Like Toy Soldiers" Eminem references Dr. Dre as "the man who literally saved my life." Eminem married Kimberly Ann Scott in 1999.

After two years Eminem and Kim divorced but would wed again in 2006, however, this time the marriage would only last eleven weeks. Eminem and Kim have one child together - Hailie Jade who was born December 25, 1996. Eminem would eventually return to re-energize D12 after acquiring large-scale success but took time off of both solo and group projects following the death of D12 member DeShaun Holton a.k.a "Proof." His personal fortune is reported to be $210 million - making him the sixth richest rapper in the world, ahead of artists such as Usher, 50 Cent and Kanye West. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, shot to fame with huge hits like Stan and Lose Yourself, making him the bestselling artist of the 2000s in the US.

Eminem’s massive Michigan mansion hits the market at $2 million

The sprawling contemporary-style mansion, which was built in 1986, spans a whopping 17,000 square feet and is located on almost six acres in the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills, MI. As for the sprawling grounds, the gated house has a private pond set in the woods. Mark Marangon of Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel-Bir holds the listing, which describes the house as a 'spectacular gated estate on nearly 6 acreswith guard house'. The house features an expansive backyard area, complete with a pool. A very interesting a notable feature is that the home has an extra spot for security.

Real estate listings show that close to Eminem's house, a home is currently on the market with an asking price of $1,399,000. The home has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, with 7,464 square-feet of space. It was listed for sale in April 2018 for $1,490,000, then reduced to $1,399,000 in May 2018. Highlights of the sprawling grounds include a pool and spa area, guard house, groomed pond and tennis court. Built in 1986, the five-bedroom home boasts 17,500 square feet of living space spread across 22 rooms. But just because the price has been slashed, doesn't mean the "Lose Yourself" rapper's house has lost any luster—no expense has been spared.

The home was also built for entertaining—as it has tennis courts, a waterfall pool with a spa, an entertainment cabana, and a guest house, complete with its own game room. Eminem's former house is set on over five acres and offers six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a tennis court which was converted to a basketball court, swimming pool and a large oval-shaped pond. The Cleaning Out My Closet hitmaker's stunning five-bedroom property boasts tennis courts, a waterfall pool and spa and an 'entertainment cabana'.

Although native IL-2 binds preferentially to receptors containing all three subunits, neoleukin-2/15 exhibits the same affinity for receptors with or without the alpha component. In mice, the protein successfully boosted the proportion of cytotoxic T cells in tumors without inciting the adverse effects seen with IL-2 itself. It’s also hyperstable, retaining its activity even after exposure to 95 °C temperatures, making storage and manufacturing for mass distribution a plausible goal. Silva, Baker and their colleagues launched Neoleukin Therapeutics in January 2019 to develop the protein into a commercial cancer therapy. That August, the company merged with Vancouver-based Aquinox Pharmaceuticals to become a publicly traded entity, the first IPD spinout to go public, under the name Neoleukin Therapeutics.

In March, the IPD announced the winners of its first Coronavirus Spike Protein Binder puzzle, which challenged players from around the world to design molecules that could potentially block SARS-COV-2 infection. This first of what will be three such challenges (Box 1) generated a diverse array of potential binders, 99 of which are currently being synthesized for testing at IPD. The IPD actively promotes collaboration with other institutions, enhancing their creative and technical expertise. We develop protein design software and use it to create molecules that solve challenges in medicine, technology, and sustainability.

Overclocker clubs sometimes host competitions to see whose rig can process the most data in a weekend, and some clubs are sponsored by computer hardware manufacturers. Protein TherapeuticsComputer-generated molecules that reprogram cells, block infection, capture toxins, and more. Our work is unlocking a new era of medical treatments and innovative materials, tapping into biology’s inherent efficiency, scalability, and sustainability. We’re recruiting graduate students who are accepted into Harvard or Harvard/MIT PhD programs!

A defined structural unit enables de novo design of small-molecule-binding proteins.

Moreover, the researchers have published the algorithm and its software so that researchers worldwide can now use them for their own projects. Based on that, it designs molecules that bind specifically to the protein according to the lock-and-key principle so they can interact with it. Proteins can be represented as primary sequences (text) and hence trained by language modeling. Proteins also have 3D structures, which makes them suitable for computer vision training.

Roksana Azad, PhDPostdoctoral Research Fellow

He then moved to UCSF for his postdoctoral work, where he built new methods to design proteins from scratch that specifically bind to small molecules. At Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Nick aims to crack the “binding code” by designing ligand-binding proteins that can serve as useful tools for observing and manipulating biology. The manipulation of protein sequences represents one of the most powerful engineering approaches that can be applied to problems across a wide range of scientific disciplines and industrial processes. Proteins are increasingly serving as drugs and drug delivery devices in medicine (e.g. antibodies, insulin, erythropoetin), while others are enzymes for chemical reactions (e.g. cellulases, amylases, proteases).

Humans have ideas; Rosetta gives them shape

In addition, the algorithm suggests only molecules that interact with the specified protein at the desired location and hardly at all with any other proteins. "This means that when designing a drug molecule, we can be sure that it has as few side effects as possible," Atz says. Even as the Baker lab makes more protein design tools freely available, the field remains highly specialized. “It’s not like somebody can just walk into a room and start coding in Rosetta,” points out Jamie Spangler. As interdisciplinary centers gain popularity, more labs may be able to take protein design in new directions.

protein design labs

To perform its complex calculations, Rosetta requires a massive amount of computing resources. To access more processing power, the Baker lab in 2005 launched Rosetta@home, a distributed computing network that recruits volunteers to run Rosetta in the background on their home computers. Since then, some 100,000 host computers in over 150 countries have joined the network. Whether you’re a student, researcher, partner, or supporter, there’s a place for you in the protein design revolution. In people with celiac disease, the body mounts an inflammatory response to one particular peptide in the gluten protein. Enzymes exist that can break down the offending peptide, but they don’t survive in the harsh, acidic stomach environment. The team started with a bacterial enzyme hardy enough to withstand the trip through the human digestive tract and set out to make it act on the immunogenic region of gluten.

Their mission is to use protein design technology to engineer sustainable sources of chemicals and ingredients that not only replace petrochemicals, but outperform existing products. TopoBuilder allows the designer to take the functional elements into account from the start and custom-build the scaffold around those elements, rather than optimizing the overall protein after the fact. Correia used TopoBuilder to make proteins that present respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) F-antigen epitopes.

Lastly, proteins are dynamic, so they have unmatched potential to be treated as videos. Following the publication of AlphaFold2 and RoseTTAFold in 2021, the field of protein structure prediction has moved quickly to incorporate these advances into protein engineering. As the field of protein design continues to evolve, the collaboration between these disciplines will remain crucial in realizing its full potential. By and large these efforts had been unsuccessful, partly because the modified IL-2 proteins were too unstable for manufacturing and storage. Daniel-Adriano Silva, who is now the vice president head of research at Neoleukin Therapeutics, recalls tackling this problem during his time in the Baker lab.

On the other end of the spectrum, designer peptides capitalize on the advantages of small size, combining the stability of a small molecule with the specificity of a large antibody-based drug. Another vaccine design strategy produced at the IPD is considerably farther along in development. Neil King, a former Baker lab postdoc who now has his own lab at the IPD, spun out the company Icosavax in 2018 based on his self-assembling nanoparticle technology.

Antibodies are proteins that recognize and neutralize foreign substances like bacteria and viruses, protecting us from infections. On the other hand, enzymes, which are also proteins, speed up countless chemical reactions in our bodies, allowing us to digest food, synthesize DNA, and produce energy. For example, collagen, the most abundant protein in the human body, provides structural integrity to our skin, bones, and connective tissues.

The University of Illinois opened the Integrative Bioprocessing Research Lab (IBRL) in 2018, a pilot-scale facility where alt-protein startups can learn how to scale production up to a 1,500-milliliter fermentation tank, Jacobson shared. Many alt-protein companies start in a lab setting, where they create a small amount of a protein using benchtop bioreactors, which is different than equipment used in commercial production, Jacobson explained. Press Briefing by Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, December 8, 2022

white house press briefing today

She also wanted to reinforce the commitment she and Brittney have made to stand up and speak out for other Americans wrongfully detained abroad. Seventy-one percent of adults are now fully vaccinated, up from less than one percent when the President took office. Thirty-six million Americans have already gotten the enhanced protection of a booster. And 95 percent of Americans, including kids as young as five, are now eligible for the protection of a vaccine. Infections among the unvaccinated continue to drive this pandemic, hospitalizations, and deaths — tragically, at a time when we have vaccines that can provide incredible protection.

And this has been through painstakingly extraordinary conversations that have been had and that has been the focus. It’s been specifically on those negotiations, channels that have been, clearly, open — right? And I’m not just — I’m just not going to get into details on negotiations and what was worked through. And so, look, we’re going to continue to put — to put our efforts forward.

Increasingly, tests are being sold in single packs, making them more convenient and affordable. So overall, we will have about a half billion tests per month by the end of this year. About half of those will be the increasingly popular and convenient at-home tests, so this is well timed for the holiday season. But just as you note, one extra layer of protection that you might take is to take a rapid test before you gather together.

If you look at the blue, it’s what happened after you get the third-dose booster shot — unequivocal effect of the booster. If you or your family members are not yet vaccinated, please consider the benefits of vaccination. Roll up your sleeves and get protected or boosted, especially if you will be around those who are at higher risk or children under the age of five who are not yet eligible for vaccination. I have heard from many families who are now able to reunite because of the protection from COVID-19 vaccines. There is certainly much to be thankful for this year.

Now, if you look at the UK Data, if you look at the Delta in the blue boxes, you see that effectiveness is significantly lower when you look at the time since the vaccine was given, measured in weeks. As is shown here, this is not looking at booster, it’s looking at the effectiveness of a two-dose Pfizer vaccine against the Omicron variant. Saturday’s event drew nearly 3,000 people. Celebrities included Academy Award winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Scarlett Johansson, Jon Hamm and Chris Pine. To get inside Saturday’s dinner, some guests had to hurry through hundreds of protesters outraged over the mounting humanitarian disaster for Palestinian civilians in Gaza. They condemned Biden for his support of Israel’s military campaign and Western news outlets for what they said was undercoverage and misrepresentation of the conflict.

We believe that the structural dynamics of this conflict favor the country defending its own territory. We believe that occupation and invasion saps the will and vitality of a nation over time. But we also believe, as I laid out — maybe in too much detail for some of you — that there are fundamental structural drivers that favor Ukraine here. And part of that is about what the U.S. industrial base can produce. Part of it is about what the Europeans have stepped up to do in really significant ways over the course of the — the last six months.

And it will help all of us stay safe this winter. And we’re well set up for the holiday travel season, with nearly 98 percent compliance at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 93 percent at TSA, and 99 percent at the FAA. And as we have done throughout our vaccination program, we have equity at the center of our work, ensuring boosters are available in the hardest-hit communities and by deploying mobile clinics to bring boosters to meet people where they are. And we are prepared to get boosters to all adults as they are eligible — six months after the second shot for Pfizer and Moderna or two months after J&J.

And with that signature this morning, the President kept America’s word that we would stand with Ukraine through thick and thin, and that’s exactly what we will do. The main reason I come to the podium today, though, is to follow up on the President’s remarks from earlier today and the very important, consequential vote that was taken in the Senate last night and the bill that was signed by the President this morning. But longer term, it remains uncertain if Ukraine — after months of losses in Eastern Ukraine and sustaining massive damage to its infrastructure — can make enough progress to sustain American political support before burning through the latest influx of money. What I can say is she will be reunited with her family. I don’t want to get, again, into details about timing or location, just to respect her family’s wishes and for privacy, given — giving them the space and time that is needed. At this moment, we would ask — you know, we ask all of you to respect their privacy as well. In recent weeks, though, it became clear that while the Russians were willing to reach an agreement to secure Brittney’s release, they continue to treat Paul differently, as I just stated, with their totally illegitimate charge that they levied against Paul. So as you all know, over the past year, we have been pursuing many different avenues, as I just stated at the top, to secure Brittney’s release, as — and I mentioned what the Secretary said in July. But since that time, U.S. officials continued to press Russia publicly and privately to engage in good-faith negotiations pursuing a variety of different options.

And we are urging them to keep that going, even as the U.S. has delivered $60 billion. Part of that is about the Ukrainian capacity itself. And then, of course, we are adding new capabilities like the ATACMS. And the President referred in his remarks earlier today to the reports of Ukrainian troops literally cheering in the trenches, watching on their phones, as the House passed the bill over the weekend. That goes to show you how closely they are following the — the U.S.

And you — you’ve seen that from his legis- — from legislation that’s been passed and trying to — and trying to make sure that we do not leave communities behind, communities have been behind — left behind for decades now. We heard from the former President, who said, “Don’t move forward.”  He told Republicans to reject it. We need that bipartisan border security n- — bill — or the negotiation that came together on that, and we have to move forward with it. It is important that — that communities feel safe and important that students feel safe.

Counterprotests back Israel’s offensive and complain of antisemitism. Ralliers cried “Free, free Palestine.” They cheered when at one point someone inside the Washington Hilton — where the dinner has been held for decades — unfurled a Palestinian flag from a top-floor hotel window. ” protesters draped in the traditional Palestinian keffiyeh cloth shouted, running after men in tuxedos and suits and women in long dresses holding clutch purses as guests hurried inside for the dinner.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is set to hold her next press briefing at 11 a.m. However, if you look at two weeks post the third dose, note the substantial degree of elevation of the neutralizing titer well within the range of neutralizing Omicron. And most recent data from our own Vaccine Research Center, which is the first in a series of data that will be coming out over the next few days and be published in a preprint server next week, this is a sampling of the data. If you look on the left-hand part of the slide, this is 21 days after the second dose of the Pfizer product. According to a preliminary investigation released Friday by the Committee to Protect Journalists, nearly 100 journalists have been killed covering the war in Gaza. Israel has defended its actions, saying it has been targeting militants.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders says she "can't predict the future" when it comes to the fate of Trump's national security adviser H.R. McMaster — but said she's "not aware" that he'll leave the administration any time soon. I don’t want to get ahead of any potential conversation about Ukraine.

Congress, because it means the difference between having them — the tools they need to put up that fight effectively and not having those tools. But you can also measure it just in terms of the — the wear and tear in places on a frontline unit who has to ration ammunition because they’re not getting the steady flows. So, we think we have made a significant set of steps forward on this, but — and this is a very important “but” — it needs to be sustained and it needs to be increased even further.

As to the Executive Office of the President — which I believe was your second question — we’ve already reached 99 percent of employees vaccinated — so, 99 percent vaccinated in the Executive Office of the President. We’re now up to 35,000 sites, so that continues to increase. We have one site for every 900 or so people in that age group — 5 to 11; that compares to one site per several thousand adults. We have plenty of supply, and more and more kids are getting vaccinated in that age group — 5 to 11 — each and every day.

That is something that the President wanted to do. And so now we’re going to continue to have those conversations and finding a way to bring him home. So, clearly, we have expanded our toolkit. And — and so that is showing how important this issue of Americans being wrongfully detained abroad and held hostage is important to the President and making sure that we bring them home, but also stop — stop those actions that we’re seeing from those countries. We are also grateful to other countries, including Saudi Arabia, that released [sic] the issue of our wrongfully detained Americans with Russian government — that raised that issue.

Visa processing is recovering faster than projected. And this year, we expect to reach pre-pandemic processing levels. And any specifics or more about the visa process, I would refer you to the State Department on that. And we’ve heard from everyday people in Arizona talking about how — how the announcement that the President made is going to do that, how the CHIPS and Science Act is changing the lives of Americans. What I can tell you is that the President is committed and continues to be committed in getting American — American citizens back home who are being held, who are wrongfully detained.

And we are — I am — deeply proud of the work that the President has done, this administration has done to get her home. With that, Seung Min. While we’re celebrating Brittney’s return home today, we have also continued to be in touch with the Whelan family for whom this news brings mixed emotions. As the Secretary of State said publicly in July, we have been engaging in intense negotiations with Russia, pursuing many different avenues over the course of the last six months to secure Brittney’s release. And we know Brittney fought tirelessly too. McEnany’s briefing will also be her first since the release of Rasmussen’s latest weekly poll, which showed Biden up eight points at 51 percent against Trump’s 43 percent.

White House: Maximum pressure campaign on North Korea "has clearly been effective"

But behind the scenes, the administration across the board has worked relentlessly to address those concerns. We now have a significant number of ATACMS coming off the production line and entering U.S. stocks. And as a result, we can move forward with providing ATACMS while also sustaining the readiness of the U.S. armed forces. Second, our allies, as the President said this morning, have been mobilizing in support of Ukraine alongside us. Just yesterday, the UK announced a significant new package of military aid for Ukraine, alongside major investments that they are making in their defense industrial base, putting their defense budget on a path to reach 2.5 percent of their GDP by the end of the decade.

To be clear, the goal of vaccination requirements is to protect workers, not to punish them. So tonight’s deadline is not an endpoint or a cliff. We continue to see more and more federal employees getting their shots. This slide makes it a little bit more graphic.

And so, this is a commitment that the President is giving to the family and to Americans. And — and so, you know, this is a commitment that he had, a promise that he made. And where we were left with is either we bring Brittney home or no one at all. And so the — you know, had a — one of my colleagues in the National Security Council said today he believed that there was a moral obligation here to get her home. Does this not mean that this President will stop with Brittney?

And so, finally, our booster vaccine regimens work against Omicron. At this point, there is no need for a variant-specific booster. Obviously, this is significantly down, but there is the maintaining of a degree of protection against hospitalization. Clearly, because — first slide please — clearly because we have an intense interest on the evolving scenario with Omicron, a number of studies have been done throughout the country and the world to take a look at how we might prepare in the context of vaccinations. And I’ll divide it up into two components. “Since the Israel-Gaza war began, journalists have been paying the highest price — their lives — to defend our right to the truth.

white house press briefing today

And Dr. Kessler, you know, last month sort of hinted that that was sort of under consideration. I mean, are you considering using the DPA to take action against Moderna for technology transfer? We started with about 20,000 sites for adolescents — sorry, for 5- to 11-year-olds to get vaccinated — places like pediatrician’s offices, children’s hospitals, in place- — in local pharmacies where parents and kids are comfortable, and trusted providers. I am wondering about vaccines for the 5- to 11-year-olds and whether you have any sense of trends yet at this point how it compares to other vaccine rollouts or the older adolescent vaccines. Let me close by underscoring that continued progress requires everyone doing their part. So if you’re unvaccinated or eligible for a booster, please go get your shot.

Inside the failed White House coup to oust Biden press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre

So that is a commitment that the President has to the American people. But again, he believed this was the right thing to do in bringing Brittney home. In this pa- — in this last week, the President approved moving forward with releasing Viktor Bout in exchange for bringing home Brittney Griner.

For example, we have 98 percent compliance at the IRS, with nearly 25 percent of IRS employees getting vaccinated after the President announced the requirement. As part of the President’s plan to protect individuals and accelerate our path out of the pandemic, he announced in September that all federal employees would be required to be vaccinated. Boosters are free and readily available at 80,000 locations across the country, including more than 40,000 local pharmacies. But still, overall, when looking at hospitalization rates, unvaccinated adults had nine times higher rate of hospitalizations than vaccinated adults. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby briefed reporters on a range of issues, including the war in Ukraine and Hunter Biden traveling on Marine One with his son, Beau. In an email provided to CNN by Michael Avenatti, Cohen forwarded a confirmation of transfer of money to Daniels’ former attorney Keith Davidson.

So, from our perspective, now that we’ve resolved our readiness concerns, being able to step up and provide our own capabilities to Ukraine, as partners of ours have — the UK, the French, others — we think it’s appropriate to do at this moment. We think it is a good capability in this phase of the conflict for Ukraine, and we will stand behind that four-square. So, we think it’s good that we’re able to provide them, but I don’t expect to stand before you and say one capability has — has been the silver bullet in this conflict. And then, third, the United States is building up our capacity to support Ukraine.

With a small investment of time and materials, you can build your own DIY cornhole boards that you can customize to your liking. This guide will show how to make a cornhole board set and how to play the game. Then switch to the 1/2″ setting and drill pocket holes that will be used to attach the plywood top to the base. We drilled (1) pocket hole into 4 of the 22.5″ boards and (2) pocket holes in the other 4 – 22.5″ boards (these will be the outside boards). You can buy 24" x 48" sheets of plywood precut at the big box store, which are the perfect size for these cornhole boards.

Fun for everyone

Where the screw holes are very close to the ends of the parts, drill countersunk pilot holes to prevent splitting when driving the screws. Enjoying your next game of cornhole is as simple as following a few rules. To make this build as easy as possible, we have created a free, downloadable PDF to build your own corn hole boards. Do you have people in your family that love to hunt? Keep with the theme even when it comes to cornhole.

Measure ¾ of an inch in from each end of the 48-inch boards, making a pencil mark on the flat side of the 2×4. Use the speed square to draw a line at this mark, spanning across the width of the board. Drill two holes on each line, each approximately ¾ of an inch from the edge. Drill pocket holes in the skirt sides (B) and ends (C) every eight inches for fastening the top (A).

Now that you’ve created your boards and bean bags, you can learn how to play cornhole and have fun with family and friends. One-hand, underhand tosses are the only tosses allowed by regulation. Overhand, above-the-head, and two-hand releases are considered fouls by cornhole regulations.

Be sure to keep all screw holes on the inside of the frame and pointing in the same direction. It would be no fun to have to re drill pocket holes. You will first apply some wood glue to the end of a 2×3 end board and then attach it to the side 2×3 with 1 ½” pocket screws.

Cut each leg a little longer than necessary, so they can be trimmed to regulation height after they're attached. (optional) Install rubber stopper feet so the boards don't slide on hard surfaces like asphalt or concrete. Bolt the legs in place with washers on both sides of the leg for smooth movement. Regular nuts will get loose or fall off with all the opening and closing of the legs. Hand tighten the legs in place with a regular nut or wing nut.

If there are still edges, ridges, or depressions, repeat this step until it’s smooth. Cut the plywood tops (A) to size, then seal with two coats of shellac. Allow them to dry, then outline the design with painter’s tape. We made the four colors by blending thinned (with denatured alcohol) shellac with alcohol-soluble dyes and applying it with a Preval sprayer. Are you planning a cornhole game session on the beach? Tarpon Island is a 2.27-acre property located west of Palm Beach with 1,300 feet of water exposure on all four sides. The guarded lake estate is only accessible by boat, seaplane, or helicopter. Nonetheless, the skyrocketing price indicates the area’s growing interest as businesses and individuals reassess their work-life ratios.

Beyoncé & Jay Z's Malibu mansion, Malibu, US

The sprawling property before you has been listed for sale at an impressive $160 million. Originally priced at a cool billion, a $350M price reduction brought the price down to a more affordable $650M – although, according to the Wall Street Journal, it ultimately sold in 2019 for a mere $100 thousand. In addition to serving as a military hospital during the First World War, the home has been featured in such films as The Red Shoes and Alfred Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief. When Hearst was forced to leave the home due to ill health in 1947, it still hadn’t been completed.

The estate was sold to a property developer in 1970 and was eventually repossessed by the banks. It should come as no surprise that the King of the United Kingdom’s residence is the most expensive home in the world. While it was always a home to members of the Royal Family, Buckingham Palace was not the official residence of a monarch until Queen Victoria ascended to the throne in 1837. Dubbed Palazzo di Amore (the Palace of Love), it was built by real estate tycoon Jeffrey Greene over 12 years at a cost of $150 million. According to Architectural Digest, Antilia is owned by Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries and the richest person in India. Valued between $1 and $2 billion, the residential home is second only to London's Buckingham Place in price.

It also has two 100-ft-long swimming pools, a tennis court and an olive grove for atmospheric alfresco dining. Legendary video-game designer Jon Burton reportedly bought this epic estate back in 2012 for $36.5 million, but it’s climbed in price quite a bit since then. The $110 million pad sits on 6.6 acres in Paradise Cove and offers roughly 340 feet of ocean frontage with direct beach access. The Spanish Colonial-style main house offers almost 17,000 square feet of living space, six bedrooms and a ton of lavish amenities. Other highlights of the estate include a high-tech 14-seat movie theater, a nine-hole mini golf course and a lighted tennis court, to name but a few.

You get a luxury house filled with bespoke features tailored exactly to your personality and taste. Particularly expensive properties like The Holme typically draw interest from foreign investors who may not intend to live in the house, but instead add it to their portfolio. Bloomberg reported last summer that 48% of the homes sold in London's most expensive districts in the first six months of 2022 were sold to international buyers. However, none of these things truly account for the Diamante’s insane price tag. Recorded as the most expensive tequila ever sold by a mile, the .925 Diamante is a true work of art. Although the tequila itself is delectable, the real stars are the bottles that collectors and tequila enthusiasts scrambled to try and grab while they lasted. From towering skyscraper penthouses that kiss the heavens to sprawling private estates that rival small towns, the diversity of these remarkable dwellings is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Perched at the top of Monaco's Odeon Tower, this five-storey 35,500 square-foot penthouse with sweeping 360-degree views was sold in 2018 for a record $335 million - the priciest apartment sale in the world. The 40,000 square foot home has 12 bedrooms, an indoor pool, spa, staff quarters, and parking for 11 cars.

Oh, and a formal dining room boasting a solid crystal table and coral reef installation. When this 40-bedroom Regent’s Park mansion went up for sale in March of this year for £250m, it immediately hit the headlines, given it would be the UK’s most expensive house sale of all time. Known as The Holme, the 29,000 sq ft Georgian property has eight garages, a grand dining room and a library. According to the Evening Standard, property tycoon Nick Candy and his wife, Holly Valance, viewed the mansion earlier this year. Not likely for sale anytime soon, the Queen’s gargantuan domicile features 775 rooms.

If you’re considering doing business in George Town, the capital city of the Cayman Islands, then a one-bedroom studio apartment will cost you around $1,924 a month or $83 a night in an Airbnb. It is located in the western end of the Caribbean sea and has a total current population of approximately 63,000 people. Bern has approximately 133,000 people living there and accommodation for a month in Bern, for one person, will cost in the region of $1,366, or $86 a night in an Airbnb.

Of course, you also have the opportunity to build your own palatial waterfront abode. The storied home, which was originally built by banker Mortimer Fleishhacker back in 1911, has been passed down in the family for generations and is now priced at a hefty $125 million. Located on 74 acres of land in Woodside, the estate has a main home designed by architects Charles Sumner Greene and Henry Mather Greene, along with six other dwellings. Altogether the place has 32 bedrooms, plenty of spots for entertaining and even a Michelin-star pub.

For perspective, the tiniest flats in Hong Kong can be as small as 123 square feet and cost a fortune. In fact, $1.2 million U.S. dollars will only net you an “average” home in Hong Kong. Luxury developer Bruce Makowsky’s 38,000-square-foot home is like an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous to the extreme. It has 12 bedrooms (including two master suites) and 21 individual bathrooms. The high-priced property was completed in 1991, but compared to previous houses, there is little to praise about it. It includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a chandelier-lit ballroom, a wood-paneled bookstore with 3,000 volumes, and a stable large enough to accommodate 30 horses.

The extravagant property is actually the former home of crooner Bing Crosby and was originally built in 1988 for TV producer Aaron Spelling. As well as the series of round rooms, this luxury mansion is also home to a sprawling, open-air 500-seat amphitheater on the hillside grounds, with views overlooking the Mediterranean sea. As well as the 18 bathrooms and 21 bedrooms, a stay here includes access to three swimming pools, a private basketball court, a two-lane bowling alley, and a 164-seat theater. The Scandinavian countries capital city is Copenhagen, which has an urban population of 1.2 million people, and a metropolitan population of 1.99 million. Denmark, bordered by Germany, Sweden and Norway has a total current population of 5.7 million people. However, Iceland’s population of 339,949 people, remains relatively low in comparison to others on our list as its harsh geographical landscape proves difficult to live in for many, at times. Luxembourg seems like it’s slightly more expensive than the Bahamas when it comes to luxuries like beer and coffee, as one beer will cost you around $9 and coffee will set you back $6. Luxembourg is a landlocked country, located in western Europe, and has an estimated population of 620,319 people. If you’re thinking about visiting the Bahamas, then you should budget approximately $950 a month for a one-bedroom studio apartment in the city, or $149 a night for an Airbnb.

Owned by junk bond billionaire Ira Rennert, this mansion in the Hamptons is one of the most desirable homes in the United States. Valued at just over $750 million, this waterside villa is one of the most expensive homes in the world and its architecture just exudes the royal aesthetic. The current villa was built on an estate that was previously owned by King Leopold II of Belgium, hence its name. The estate was the King’s gift to his mistress and was eventually used as a military hospital in World War I after his death. In 1950 it was bought by Fiat and Ferrari owner Giovanni Agnelli and has changed ownership several times since. 52 of these are Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 are staff bedrooms, 92 are offices, and 78 are bathrooms.

The Bubble Palace was last owned by the late French fashion designer Pierre Cardin who acquired the historic mansion in 1992 as a luxury holiday home and has been the backdrop for many a fashion and celebrity event. And since Cardin’s death in 2020, the entire estate is available to rent, but not (yet) available to the public. The Times reported that it was repossessed as a way to repay a loan of about $180 million, along with a New York residence and a private plane. While some of these homes may occasionally be open for public tours or events, many are privately owned and not regularly accessible to the public.

The Hotel is welcoming, all the staff are very friendly. The guys at the concierge desk are the best, they gave us good advise as to where to go, how best to get there and more. Top tips for your stay at Siam@Siam, Design Hotel Bangkok

We got upgraded to a great room, since the one we got originally, smelled of smoke. Very cool design hotel with lots of interesting interior in the middle of the shopping district in Bangkok. Since we had to leave before breakfast we also got a nice breakfast bag when we checked out.

The hotel is just a five-minute walk from the National Stadium skytrain station, which gives easy access without traffic to the rest of the city. As the hotel is slightly west of the main hotel zone, prices are a good value and one feels a bit off the tourist grid here. The only drawback to the location is that rush hour traffic in this neighborhood is atrocious.

This hotel was highly-rated for its very comfy beds. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Beautiful room with a comfortable bed. For health and wellness, Siam@Siam Design Hotel has a small upstairs pool along with a smallish fitness center. Spa 10 is located on the 10th floor, where various massage treatments are offered.

Stay in the know

I will definitely recommend Siam@Saim hotel and from outside we will be back. There was a view to the sunset from our room and the amenities are amazing, the bed is comfortable, the room was beautiful. We also love the complimentary services such as free drinks and snacks in the hotel restaurants and bars. The staff are friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. There was a hiccup that the air conditioning didn't work correctly. After discussion with the staff, we were transferred to another room to sleep, which was good.

Metal tree-like sculptures, open pipes, and soft light completes the funky vibe. The loft-like restaurants and bars continue this trend, with plenty of plush armchairs and sofas to sprawl on and art pieces scattered everywhere. It's eclectic and refreshing, but not tacky nor gaudy in the least. We had a great stay and are very thankful since we were met by wonderful service by the friendly staff.

Turn your phone on airplane mode the second you board the ship

But the sketchiest aspect of the phone call was that I had to decide that very instant; I could not hang up and call back. When I said I couldn't possibly make a vacation decision without checking with my husband, the rep offered to put me on hold, so I could call my husband and then re-connect. She also said if I booked, I could transfer the booking to someone else for a $9.95 fee. When I gave my credit card over the phone, I had no way of knowing if the rep was who she said she was, if I would get a cruise or if she would steal my credit card number.

Similar to airlines and hotel chains, many cruise lines operate loyalty programs to reward their frequent travelers. However you encounter the free cruise offer, there a few things to consider. First, it usually does not come from a cruise line, though the phone reps might make it sound like that's what they are. My offer came from Royal Seas Cruises; others have been contacted by Holiday Cruise Line. The ship they are offering to get you on is often Grand Celebration. It's a legitimate cruise ship -- but it's owned by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line.
